The Watchtower study exemplifies the practice of blaming and/or shaming individuals for what happens in local congregations, never pausing to see the GB's contribution to the situation. Smug tone in the paragraphs is "outstanding" in its brazeness and shows the huge role of pride in maintaining faith in the unity imposed by the GB.

I smell the desperation that only comes from controlling manipulators, who find themselves against the ropes.

hoser and steve2 nailed it - the WTBTS is hemorrhaging younger members, and all they can come up with is a Watchtower blaming young people for looking elsewhere? They are so far up themselves, they never stop to consider that people might be leaving because there are huge problems and people can see the WTBTS for what it is?

There is no real future for young people by staying in, missing out on college etc. - if they stay in, they will just be another slave to the WTBTS property development business, and Armageddon will still be "just around the corner".

I reckon we owe you big time Blondie for your WT summary work over the years. I think you deserve a Blondie WT lite format. It works well and I hope you manage it regularly. Thanks.

The WT implies that the early Christians were unified:

The early Christians were also noted for working together. For instance, after many Jews and proselytes became Christians, they devoted themselves “to the teaching of the apostles, to associating together, to the taking of meals, and to prayers.” (Acts 2:42)

Paul says other wise, something the WT knows but avoids in this article:

For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it.

    and:

Some of you are saying, "I am a follower of Paul." Others are saying, "I follow Apollos," or "I follow Peter," or "I follow only Christ."

WT rewrites the story of early christianity in order to validate their own enforced conformity, conflating it with unity of belief.

Christianity as an established religion only came with the exclusion of all other gospels but the 4 in the canon, and belief was standardized with the writing of official creed.

But the reality doesn't sit well with WT writers, so the gloss from this lesson is what they give as what happened, that early christians were unified.

The reality is more interesting, but would be disturbing to the rank and file, because it has a dilemma for WT: christians were not 'unified' (really, forced to believe the same thing or be thrown out) until the 4th century, well into the 'apostasy' period.

The 'unity' that the WT asserts (enforced conformity) and the bible canon was a product of apostate minds.

Verse 12 where it says we certainly wouldn't turn to the world for assistance. My bullshit detector went off and spewed out the letters U and N.

And that we are to stay close and rely on our brothers. Really? The brothers who pulled their elderly mother out of a nursing home who had dementia and was in diapers and the minute she was down here they took her for seven thousand dollars and asked us to look after her and when we got tired of their bullshit then they shipped the poor woman back to her home ten hours away to a caregiver who was suppose to be beating the crap out of her in the first place. Or the elders who are now bad mouthing us to neighbours who are not jw's? Or to the elder who's mother has two kids that were df'd because they charged her with sexual assault and she took off until things could quiet down. Or to the elder who gives a local needs on marrying in the lord all the while knowing about a brother who was living common law with a worldly woman as well as admitting that he had been seeking out prostitutes for the last twelve years. Or stick close to the elders who go away for the weekend leaving their daughters at home alone just to come home to their fourteen year old who becomes pregnant by a thirteen year old worldly boy and the rest of the body of elders cover that one up. Or stick really close to these goons who let a guy associated with the congregation that was reinstated while still a smoker, fooled around on his wife and threatened to blow off her head with a loaded gun, had the cops called on him because he also threatened to kill his father, poccessed an illegal firearm with no special firearm license along with no regular gun license and had his worldly high school employee forge a legal document using his wife's name on the document. Once the elders knew that we knew they came after us and used that guys whole family as my accusers. Or the elder who got his wife to ask me while my husband was at work for three thousand dollars the very next day after we were baptised. Or our po who said that it doesn't bother him at all to see starving countries and children dying. There's a reason why they are there and we are here, coming from a pig who inherited his father's insurance company and didn't have to work for it. Or the elder and his wife who studied with us at the beginning and we had to discontinue their studies because after the study was done out came the booze and they would get so polluted. These are the ones that we are to stick close to, Really????????????????????????

Verse 19 about the Philippines. Weren't they told to go to their hall when their disaster happened and the hall was swept away. That the brothers and sisters received no warnings until it was too late. That the meetings were not cancelled and that they were to go.

    Thank you, Blondie

From reading these articles, one would presume joke-hova is getting ready to usurp the whole world the way it did Canaan. Since when does that thing have the right to claim the whole planet as its own? Since when does that thing have the right to any part of our planet?

They discuss the jokehovian witlesses as having a monopoly on being upright. I was raised in the world, and never learned to smoke. To me, it was nothing more than a waste of time to even try it. So I never tried. I never smoked while I was a jokehovian. And I never started after leaving the jokehovians. As for "Satan wants you smoking", that is a complete lie. Would Satan want you suffering after spending all that time trying to liberate us from joke-hova? Or, would Satan have wasted the time trying to free us when joke-hova was going to make us suffer? As I see it, Satan would rather I spend the money on silver rounds and coins instead of on cancer sticks.

And not to be giving to the congregation, either. There is going to come a day when they are going to announce that they want everyone to turn in everything of value, and that will include precious metals. This is supposedly for distribution to those in need, which is going to be the whole congregation. Who do you think will receive it, someone that went against the grain and bought it, or those who did nothing except pious-sneer? Or, worse, it would all go into the Worldwide Damnation Fund. They do not give a fxxx about anyone or anything but their communist god joke-hova.
