I suppose if they get something 'future upgrade compatible' that can be taken as a hint that Amy Geddon won't be coming in the near future?

I'm not sure how upgrading their computer systems is any big deal.
I work in the computer industry and I can tell you that every large corporation upgrades their systems every few years. It is a very common practice that means nothing... other than they need to be able to use the latest software technology.

...the latest HACKABLE software technology.

I have also heard that with this upgrade they will also be redoing the website, and adding more to it for NON-Jws like me to do research instead of joining boards like this. ( that is what I was told).

Depends which Bethel and which System
The Brooklyn uses 4 separate networks - Publishing control, Back Office, Finance and Service Desk. The service Desk is the high secure one. The Service desk has a gateway for the specialised shepherding arrangement which is located remotely.
PAtterson has a 4 server network for Publishing Control. A single RAID server for BackOffice that interfaces and duels with Brooklyn. Finance have been running the same system for years (Windows NT secure network systems)
London Bethel runs 3 Server single network for Publishing, a duel servier for Backoffice which integrates accounts and Finance. Again the Service Desk is totally secure and has a separate gateway, they used a dedicated Kilostream (Nx64K)to the remote systems u8ntil 18 months ago, now they use Secure static IP ADSL systems.
As with all large corp systems, each backs up to the hard drive of another - in other words they negate the possibility of Single point failure. They use Static IP secure networks ADSL for this.
If its true that a new system is being installed, then that is either the finance system in Patterson OR the new computers needed for the presses - but that intgrates into the older Publishing control network anyway
