"It may appear to be anarchy, but it is well organized and it works."

Well put. It is one of the greatest strengths of the Internet. Look at site like Wikipedia and others where the readers contribute to the body of knowledge in an open, free and democratic way. I find that amazing and also heartening.

What a fine observation, seeker4. I'll betcha anything the WT snoops have been scrabbling around for any sign of "organization" in the ex-JW community. If the WT could point to a single anti-JW leader, they could pull him down. But as you say, most of our efforts are individual and from the ground up. How do they deal with the groundswell of thousands of exited Witnesses who have found each other and found a voice?

Thank You Simon for giving us that voice.

Then I got to thinking about having access online to all of the elder's letters for decades, and websites with WTS literature, copies of the UN letter on the WTS being a NGO and so much more. We've got copies of the elder's manual, KMs and the latest mags. We have the Quotes site, or at least the new versions of it, with thousands of quotes about what the WTS really said on hundreds of subjects. We've got sites with hundreds of critical arguments against WTS doctrine, history, "science" and theology.

I am grateful for the wealth of information we have accumulated here, and that which I have found on my own. Knowledge really is power, power to fight the lies and slander. I also add my thanks. Without this community, I probably would've gone to the elders about the 607 problem and would've been df'd. Perhaps I may have just filed it away and let it gnaw at me. Now I can discuss it, understand what I am trying to argue, and find out the things the Org. would never let a witness know. I am grateful indeed.

I agree completely. This is the type of stuff that the society would use as proof of gods backing...

So I raise my digital glass in my first ever toast...

To free thinking, and all the people brave enough to use it.

    Nice points.
I think the power of all this info, is not in making inroads amongst the still firmly believing JWs - few of them would ever dare read any of it.
BUT, the second someone has a doubt or a question, and takes the time to research it, their exit from the WTS can be incredibly swift, as the anti-JW information and arguments are quite ovewhelming. There is just SO MUCH out there, and available at your fingertips. Someone today can access more anti-WTS information in one afternoon than they could likely get their hands on in a year or two just a decade or so ago.
    Great job, everyone!

I wish every active witness would spend a full day just reading this discussion forum or freeminds web.and we would have a lot eyes opened.

    I'm dreaming!

I've gone to two parties over the last couple of weeks, including one last night, at which were several ex-JWs. Most of them left due to the Internet. They were all still shocked to know to the extent that things are available online. When I told them that all of the elder letters for the last 40 were posted, including an index. they were shocked.

None of this group posts online - just me out of 7 former JWs. There are a huge number of Witnesses who have left yet they are not involved in ex-JW sites to any degree. We all leave in various ways.
