JWS Kingdom Halls are not supposed to be beautiful, they are buildings designed for intricate brainwashing and indoctrination.

Example 'new style' Kingdom Hall with windows
The only reason they have windows is because they are designed to eventually be resold as a fast food joint or small commerical property. They figure they'll make a lot of money by not building anything that a sincere God believer would for his house of worship, but instead as an investment where people build free commerical properties for them to sell when they appreciate in value.

Since the Watchtower Corporation is a commercial fraud hiding within a religion, it makes sense to build buildings with a commercial look and atmosphere. $$$
