Excellent advice. Changing state law is the first step to helping abused children.

I agree completely with Blondie. In New York, I support the lobbiest groups working to make it a law that convicted pedofiles must register with the public registry, and failing to keep it up to date would become a felony, now it's only a misdeamenor.

I write to and visit my senators and assemblymen regularly about school funding as part of my school tutoring program, but I also mention people who offer illegal asylum to pedofiles, like the Watchtower, and that always causes quite a stir. Thanks for the video Randy!

I wonder about the laws regarding rapists. I know in my state, a person has 10 yrs to report a rape (if you are over 18). Can a man who has raped be an elder again? Would that 20 yrs rule apply to him? What responsibility does the org have if they allowed a rapist to walk freely in an among jws ? What if the rapists confesses, and they don't report him to the police? or his victim? Are they an accomplice to that crime?

While this topic is still fresh, I will re-ask a question I posed some time ago on the "two witness" rule. As I remember there was nothing definitive in response.
Do current judicial committees still insist that the second witness is a person? Or, like law enforcement, do they now honor, say, a "rape kit" as a means of testimony? Today, DNA speaks loud and clear -- semen, hair, skin under fingernails, etc.
