WAS DISHONESTY A PROBLEM IN YOUR CONGREGATION?

    I didn't see much 'congregational' dishonesty (not saying there wasn't a lot there but I didn't see it!) I did see a lot of JW businessmen who would have put the Enron guys to shame with how they treated 'worldly people.'

    I once asked a brother how he could justify what was basically stealing and he said 'they're just worldly people, they're gonna die soon anyway!' I saw that attitude a lot! In fact it was so prevailing that when I was a newbie on this site I started a thread similar to this one about it! I once had a brother tell me that he was doing a lot of extra 'free' work for this house he was building on the beach because 'after this guy dies in armageddon I'm going to live there!'

    What a bunch of sick deluded morons!

    Every time I went out in service:

    Householder (through the door): "Who is it?"

    Arthur: "I'm one of your neighbors"

    Householder (now with door open): "What do you want?"

    Arthur: "We just want to share a positive message with you from the Bible"

    Householder: "We have our own church"

    Arthur: "That's okay, all we are doing is encouraging people to read their Bibles".

    By the time I left their door, my nose was about 18 inches long.

    Field service time turned in is frequently a source of dishonesty.
    Want to see a really stressed out JW? Find a pioneer who was strictly honest with how they counted time, especially in a rural area where early morning or late evening witnessing was impossible.
