The governing body does what any other religion is doing, read the bible and give an interpretation and that's why we have 1000's of so called christian churches.
The only difference jw's at times have lost their lives because of their interpretation
there has been some "new understanding" on this issue. That in fact they are only "blessed" by God.
They can’t say they are "directed" anymore unless they want to also admit they were directed in the wrong direction. Then they would have to say Jehovah's active force held the map upside down when they were handing out directions.
That made me giggle.
