I seem to run into more people that have had casual contact with the witnesses or inactive parents than I would have expected. Someone from my warcraft guild was raised by JW parents who are now inactive. Another internet friend is dating a girl that was associated but I dont believe baptized. It seems like almost everyone has JW stories they just don't always come up in conversation.
Congrats on "gaining your brother" as it were. I count as successes all those who were never witnesses but who I have since "innoculated" as successes as well.

I have just heard from my brother that he has been sharing what I've been talking with him about with his DF'd girlfriend, and although she had also been having lingering longings to go back, she is now convinced they made the right choice to leave for good.
Domino is apparently in effect. She has family who are fringe JWs but regular publishers, they are planning to discuss these things with her family one at a time.
Wow. You never know where it will go once it starts.

What wonderful news AS! I am so happy for you!
I have one sibling who truly has a clue about the borg. She actually was on the internet researching it years before I did. She never officially left, and she vascillates sometimes still feels like she wants to believe it's true but she can't un-know what she knows...you know?
I hope that this will be the beginning of a wonderful, real relationship for the two of you!

Just stumbled across this posting, and its good to hear that your relationship with your brother has strengthened. My situtation is a bit opposite of yours, but its commendable that you are looking out for whats best for your brother. Also a bit nice to see a change in your writing style... you seem relaxed and at ease.
