I woke up this morning and made coffee and we are planning on eating a big breakfast and then doing a hike to a waterfall where we can play in the water and pick wild blueberries.
It got me thinking how WONDERFUL it is to have my weekends to myself now. When I was a dub I would skip out on service a lot but the whole day was ruined for me because I'd feel guilty for not going out in service. UGHHH! Now - I love having a fun weekend and letting the kids watch cartoons all morning on saturdays.
poor jws that are going out in "the field" today. maybe if they knock on my door today I'll have them in for coffee and breakfast and I'll show them how much better their saturdays could be......
I love my saturdays......

We're going to our friend's baby's baptism this morning. A truly joyous occasion. Not one person there will discuss Armageddy!
We're gonna play music, dance and eat BBQ brisket, cabrito and deer sausage; potato salad, beans, corn bread, jalapenos, pecan pie, blueberry cobbler and last but not least, as much Big Red Sodie Water as we can stand.
You have a great day as well. Thanks for reminding me of the way it "used" to be and, more important, the way it "ain't" any more. -

I feel so guilty about making my kids miss cartoons on saturday mornings, but hey if they did we would die at armageddon.

I remember how much I used to crave just to sleep in. School 5 days a week, sunday meeting and service it all just added up to wanting a day off and never getting it.

Absolutely, Freedomlover!
My doorbell went at 8.30 a.m. this morning. It was so lovely seeing the postman stood there!
Having Sunday off isn't bad, either!

Yeah, weekends are just great nowadays.
Lie in Saturday morning, get up, walk the dog, have breakfast, do some shopping, then after dinner, relax for the rest of the day until we go out later on, and repeat the process on Sunday, apart from the shopping and going out.
I saw some dubs this morning on our street, and they came in our block, though not to our door of course. I really didn't envy them.

My Dad is the same way, he used to go out every Saturday, and if he didn't he would feel so bad. Now he does as he pleases...breakfast, working out, works on the house etc. He is so much more at peace now it is amazing.

Absolutly!!!!!!!!!!
It is just great doing life enhancing "things". Wild blueberries? I bet they are good! Let us know how the hike turned out.
I had breakfast at a really good restaurant with 9 others from my Ham Radio Club and after that drove to a RC model airplane show. These guys were flying Giant Scale planes. One had a wingspan of 14 feet. What a fun day!
