insist on that - "if you have accusations to make,
you will have to put them in writing and I will respond
to them".
With all the lying and deception that goes on in this
religion, they hate putting anything in writing.

interesting remarks on this subject. Where I live, I have seen JCs formed over ridiculous things. One brother I know was hauled in on a JC on the accusation of buying a lottery ticket! I did not think that was a committee matter!! It seems sometimes it can be more of a witch hunt than anything else at times. I understand the cong. needs to be kept clean, but it can just go too far.

Yes! Gambling is a disfellowshipping offense. They say you are coveting your neighbors belongings (money, that is) and you are greedy if you gamble. No leniency, gambling is gambling! Get that judicial machine rolling, stat! Remember "No greedy persons inherit the kingdom", so let's root it out while it's an inch tall.

I have never seen anything in the bible refering directly to gambling.
I don't consider buying a lottery ticket gambling myself. My idea of a gambler is someone who goes and blows the family money in casinos or the like.
And even if they do consider buying lotto tickets as gambling, then maybe none of us should invest in the stock market. I heard the society even holds stocks!
