Remember some of the terrible Watchtowers in the past ten years that portrayed false religion on the cover ? Remember how most witnesses hid it under the Awake when offering it ?

This so called "big anouncement" against false religion (or, recycled announcement I should say) is just another tactic to stir up the rank and file and nothing more. They have to do something to get people moving again and preaching more because their numbers are going down. Most of the world will not even read the new tract since they don't care at all. It is in the JW's minds that the churches give a hoot about them, they do not!
It would be one thing if the WT went on public T.V. to make this announcement but we all know they are too cowardly to do that. Again, this is a tactic to try to convince the rank and file to hang in there even though many are leaving for Jehovah will act soon and the "proof" is this new announcement about false religion's end soon. Same message as Russell in 1897, 1898, 1914, etc........etc....

They always say there is something special to be announced in september because it is the beginning of the service year and it gives everyone something to look forward to because it always makes everyone think that Armageddon is getting closer. It always used to scare me to death, they just want everyone to pay closer attention and not stray

Big announcement against false religion. Surely thats what they have been doing since they were founded.
When you consider how loud and open they were in the 1920's and 1930's even the 1950's in denouncing the churches. Today they seem to be just whispering.
In the 100+ years of their existence how many people really know what they teach? With all their hours of preaching and millions of publications.
What does anyone know about them?
Ask someone what do JW's believe and most often you get "They knock on your door. They don't take blood. They don't celebrate Christmas." That is what I usually get if I ask anyone.

It's nothing but a game to get the rank and file all excited about the door to door service,just like the track placed before the District Convention.
Everyone had an assignment of placing 50 of them, so they play on their guilt to place them. I noticed because of the tract, more are out in service in order to place them all.

Babylon fell according to the GB in 1918, now it needs to be destroyed by Jehovah. According to them the waters of Babylon have been drying up, losing its members and churches are closing everywhere.
As far as i know in the US more people go to church than ever before, and i have lived in many states i have not seen a church closing its doors.

Guys... this is GOOD NEWS! Then more ppl will Google for Jehovah's Witnesses. Does WT truly things that today ppl are so ignorant about things in the Information Era? What happenned to DaVinci code? More ppl googled for info and meny of them got info about Church true history. I hope in this case ppl will find info about true history of WT. WT have done nice when they published and recorded they deeds through all the century. Today we have plenty of info to judge WT. Let them speak and God will do the rest (in opposite to what WT wants).

To avoid the fact that BTG's numbers are not drying up, the WTS has been mentioning it less and less. Only old-timers remember how this point was hammered in the past. This could be why the Revelation Climax book is going to be restudied for a 4th time to support concepts in the new tract re the destruction of religion. I wonder what they will use to "prove" that membership in non-JW religions is drying up?

Neighbors of temples without resident priests are objecting to vagrants’ loitering in the temple area as well as to the danger of fire erupting. The Zen Buddhist Myoshinji sect decided to handle the problem by either disposing of temples or merging them with those nearby. More than 20 percent of the Myoshinji sect’s 3,500 temples throughout Japan either do not have a resident priest or are served by priests from nearby temples.
Why the plight? "The sect is having difficulty finding successors to retiring priests," explains The Daily Yomiuri, "and young priests have resisted postings to temples in depopulated areas." The sect tried to train retired workers as priests but has already abandoned the scheme. Although the Myoshinji say that "this is not an age when the number of temples in existence is proof of strength," it is undeniable that their influence is waning.
Interestingly, the Bible book of Revelation foretells that the waters of the Euphrates, on which the worldwide religious system—"Babylon the Great"—is seated, will ‘dry up.’ (Revelation 16:12; 18:2, 9, 11) What do the waters represent? "The waters that you saw . . . mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues." (Revelation 17:15) A drying up of "the waters," or supporters, is clearly taking place in the Oriental realm of Babylon the Great.

Isaiah Prophecy-1 chap. 17 p. 216 par. 4 "Babylon Has Fallen!" *** (no mention of drying up)As we learned in Chapter 14 of this book, ancient Babylon has a modern counterpart—"Babylon the Great," the world empire of false religion. In Revelation, Babylon the Great is likewise portrayed in connection with "a wilderness" and "waters." The apostle John is carried away to a wilderness to be shown Babylon the Great. He is told that she "sits on many waters" representing "peoples and crowds and nations and tongues." (Revelation 17:1-3, 5, 15) Popular support has always been a key to the survival of false religion, but such "waters" will not protect her in the end. Like her ancient counterpart, she will end up empty, neglected, and desolate.

According to Revelation 17:1, 15, these symbolize "peoples and crowds and nations and tongues"—hordes of adherents that she has regarded as a protection. But the "waters" are drying up! In Western Europe, where formerly she had great influence, hundreds of millions have openly ignored religion. In some Eastern European lands, there is a declared policy to try to destroy the influence of religion. The masses in those lands have not risen up on her behalf. Similarly, when the time comes for Babylon the Great to be destroyed, the dwindling number of her adherents will prove to be no protection at all. (Revelation 17:16) Though she claims a membership of thousands of millions, Babylon the Great will find herself defenseless against "the kings from the rising of the sun."

re chap. 33 p. 238 par. 10 Judging the Infamous Harlot ***Ancient Babylon sat on many waters—the Euphrates River and numerous canals. These were a protection to her as well as a source of commerce producing wealth, until they dried up in one night. (Jeremiah 50:38; 51:9, 12, 13) Babylon the Great also looks to "many waters" to protect and enrich her. These symbolic waters are "peoples and crowds and nations and tongues," that is, all the thousands of millions of humans over whom she has dominated and from whom she has drawn material support. But these waters are also drying up, or withdrawing support.—Revelation 17:15; compare Psalm 18:4; Isaiah 8:7.

The angel now draws John’s attention back to the harlot: "And he says to me: ‘The waters that you saw, where the harlot is sitting, mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues. And the ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.’"—Revelation 17:15, 16.
16 Just as ancient Babylon relied on her watery defenses, Babylon the Great today relies on her huge membership of "peoples and crowds and nations and tongues." The angel appropriately draws our attention to these before telling of a shocking development: Political governments of this earth will turn violently upon Babylon the Great. What will all those "peoples and crowds and nations and tongues" do then? God’s people are already warning Babylon the Great that the water of the river Euphrates will dry up. (Revelation 16:12) Those waters will finally drain away completely. They will not be able to give the disgusting old harlot any effectual support in her hour of greatest need.—Isaiah 44:27; Jeremiah 50:38; 51:36, 37.
