Who are these campaigns for?
Seems to me they are for drumming up support from the rank and file rather being a genuine attempt to put a message out to the public.

As someone posted in another thread, they had almost exactly the same campaign about a decade ago!

You know who'll notice this campaign?? NO ONE. Just like all the other campaigns. JW impact on the world is just about nil.

Excitement is running high at the old Kingdung Hall. Special talks about being prepared for disasters (Ooo brothers and sisters, is this a precursor to the GREAT TRIBULATION??? Oh wow, new light...we can stock our basements now and be ready for....anything), and soon a big Condemn False Religion campaign! WhooHoo! Bet they'll cover the neighborhoods in "special" flyers that most people will toss in the trash without even reading and have a month of Watchtower studies about how great JWs are and how baaaaaaad all other religions are. What a stunning blow to "false" religion, that great and terrible. slutty HARLOT! ....not that false religion will even know. I mean who pays attention to the dubs stupid shit anyhow?

There was a sweet little dubette in the store this afternoon. She was bending our cashier's ear about getting her disaster kit put together. Caitlin (cashier) must have asked what sort of disaster she was planning for cuz I heard dubetta explain that this was for ANY sort of disaster that might come along...I think she then swung into something about the great tribulation, but I just kept walking. I'll ask Cait tomorrow what the convo was about. So sad really. They think they are so important and they're just....not.

Yes, I remember they did the same crap twenty years ago just as the Revelation anti-climax book came out......then again, they've been spewing the same garbage for the last 130 years. Yaaawwn.......

Actually, they're not too different from the fundy militant Muslims who seem to think they can hasten The End by purposely doing something themselves. While the Dubs won't go and kill people, I think what they're aiming for is this: if they slander "false religion" enough, they're hoping that the big guns, like the Catholic Church, might try taking them to court to stop them from slandering them. The Organization will refuse and will view themselves as being in the same situation as the apostle Paul when he was ordered to "stop preaching". Then if they're lucky, the Catholic Church will gain support through the other mainstream churches and will seek to get the Witnesses banned. The Witnesses will view this as false religion turning on the one true religion and this will hopefully lead to the Great Tribulation. Then it's just a matter of Jehovah stepping in and making the Armageddon pictures in the old Paradise book a reality.
