I admit it, I'm not cool. I miss the trends. I don't notice a new fashion until half the women in this city are draped in it. I blew it big on this one. Snakes on a Plane. What a stupid, stupid premise. I'd decided already for stupidity alone, I'd boycott the film. Want to slow down a snake? Turn down the thermostat. Done.
I boycott Tom Cruise for the same reason. All I can see now is him jumping up and down on Oprah's couch. Stupid.
Then I notice, that Snakes on a Plane is everywhere. Street-wise camera hogs in downtown Manhattan are draping themselves with boas, and I don't mean feathers. This darn thing is headed for cult hit! How? Why?

I think I've figured out some of the How and Why. I just finished reading "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell. He makes a very good point that incremental changes - at the right points, can lead to a sweeping epidemic of change. I intend to find the tipping point to bring the Watchtower to it's knees.
In the meantime, I might have to swallow my pride, drown myself in my cultural milieu, and go see the stupid movie. When it hits the dollar theatre. By then, maybe, the rubber snakes will be off store shelves.
