The Romans soldiers killed Jesus.

The Jewish religious leaders manipulated things to get Jesus killed.

The Jewish people should never have been blamed for the actions of some of the leaders who acted on their own volition almost 2,000 years ago.

Actually FWIW, the writings of Josephus, (yes, he was Jewsih, so probably biased), give fairly detailed evidence of the greater blame being that of the Romans.

Following Dansk's train of thought, it is worth asking if the passage Testimonium Flavianum qualifies as conclusive "secular evidence" or disputed "Christian interpolation"?

Yes they did. Maybe not physically but morally.

Back then they were subjugated by the Roman empire and thus could NOT carry out capital punishment themselves. So they had the Romans do it for them.
