I'd never seen banners until a few years ago at the international in Sydney, there was a massive Japanese delegation who spend the days in 35C heat in their many layers of kimono the poor dears. One lunch session they were scheduled to sit in the sunniest spot of the stadium and a few were sent to hospital with heat stroke.

Anyway back to the banners... there was a lot of that kind of thing being paraded around after the close of the sunday session. Much weeping and handing out of contacts. It touched me a little, but only until my family started arguing.

Why would they be concerned about the link being posted on internet sites? Doesn't that just improve their google rating?

Oh My God... This is like the 10th time I've seen these pictures. The fact that these pictures are being circulated around the JW community is sad. They simply rarely have these huge conventions anymore, and the average JW yearns to make friends from all over the world... but does it have anything to do with "the truth"? All this shows is how one idea of a crackpot 100 years ago can dupe so many people into blind worship.

On another note... there was a couple in our cong. that went to this convention. They said it was so hot because the site was covered in a glass-type dome, and Germany was suffering a heat wave so the temperature got really high inside. They said there were hundreds of people who just couldn't take it and had to go home.

The whole banners thing is weird. They never did that when I was attending.

The pictures just make me feel really sad and uncomfortable.

His threads could stand to be improved, but he's got allllll those sisters around him! I mean, let's say he's in one of those congregations where the male:female ratio is really low. As long as he's decently competent and somewhat attractive, those marriage hints must be quite numerous, eh? I can imagine well-cooked dinners for him, little favors to catch his attention, etc. And to top it off, he's got that Borg-directed headship to keep him firmly in control. That's what I would call pimp.

Ok I've got to say it. The picture of the one brother surrounded by dozens of Asian girls was the most convincing evidence I've ever seen that the JWs have the truth... I think I may have to go back and head off IMMEDIATLY to where the ~~hotties~~ need is greater!
