I find this forum immensely therapeutic. Posters here have helped me with personal issues as well as historical, religious, evolutionary, etc. I think this is the best psychiatric forum for XJWs anywhere, kinda like my own personal shrink!

    What do you think?

Same here. People who understand where i am coming from, know what i am going on about and usually have some solution or idea about a problem.

    In some ways, it is.

Being here has played a big part in my recovery after leaving the wts. I have found friends here, been helped in resolving personal issues, been entertained, and been kept informed of what is happening in the jw world.

I have come a long way since last November, when I da'd, and being on this board is one of the reasons I have made the progress I have. Joining JWD was one of the better decisions I have made in the last year.

I see this place as a big support group.

We see so many others who have gone through what we've gone through as regards being a JW. We understand. We know. We've been there. We reaffirm to each other that we're not alone.

    Owdo Dansk!

Not my shrink but it's been a great place to get a more rounded knowledge of what the HECK i did with 15 yrs of my life.

    Just a fun place really.

I'm not one to discuss very private issues with people from all over the world that i don't really know. By that i mean that i wouldn't 'air' about my love life or other sensitive stuff. I respect that some find the need to do that here though. Whatever floats yer boat.

    Peace

    Good point undercover.

Leaving the jws can be a lonely experience for some, particularly when practically all their friends/family are still jws. There's no doubt that that's what keeps many in - the prospect of losing every friend they've ever had almost overnight.

Apart from being on here, I was lucky enough to have a friend like Trev to go to when I left, but not everyone is that lucky, and boards like this one are a lifeline to some who exit.
