I'm sure I've read something somewhere. It may have been in the old testament.

Pallemar, I doubt the elders would agree with you:
Sexual relations are a gift from God, a gift that is to be enjoyed at the appropriate time—when one is married. How does God feel when we try to enjoy sex outside of marriage? Well, imagine that you have purchased a gift for a friend. Before you can give it to that friend, he or she steals it! Wouldn’t you be upset? Imagine, then, how God feels when a person engages in premarital sex, abusing the gift that God has provided.
What should you do about your sexual feelings? Put simply, learn to control them. Remind yourself that “Jehovah himself will not hold back anything good from those walking in faultlessness.” ( Psalm 84:11 ) “When I find myself thinking that premarital sex would not be so bad,” says a youth named Gordon, “I reflect on the bad spiritual consequences and realize that no sin is worth the loss of my relationship with Jehovah.” Exercising self-control may not be easy. But as young Adrian reminds us, “it leaves you with a clean conscience and a good relationship with Jehovah, free to focus on the more important things, with no guilt or remorse for past actions.”— Psalm 16:11 .
Not that I worry what the elders think anymore, but if you are still attending they would certainly be on your baxk if you indulged in sexual relations outside of marriage

I'm pretty sure the good old book up Acts will tell you that naughty fornicators aren't going to be in God's kingdom. =P

True Story:
A few years ago a JW couple I knew, were dating, and a couple months later they announced that they will be getting married soon, everyone was happy. I over heard that they were going to wait for some "special" brother to marry them, however, he going to be away on vacation during the time they picked out for the wedding date, well "something" happened and the wedding was moved up to within weeks, they said that they could not wait and loved each other so much that they couldn't stand to wait a month for the wedding so handwritten invites were sent out announcing the wedding I think by the time they were actually sent out in the mail, the wedding was like the following week.
I was shocked to hear that the wedding was going to be at a restaurant, and not the kingdumb hall, anyway didn't pay too much attention to it all except a week after the wedding, I heard that they were expecting a baby, I said to myself OHHH that's the rush to get married, she was prego, seven months later they had a baby girl they said that she was pre-mature, ok this baby was like 10lbs, I may not be a baby expert but I sure as hell know that the baby is not pre-mature. Everyone was like totally believing the stupid story and asking ohh is everything all right no complications with the premature birth.
Bottom line: why is it totally ok for JW's to sin, then lie about it and everyone expected to believe the bullshit?

Actually, assuming that the definition you quoted for us is what the Greek word means in English, then it includes premarital sex as the word I put in bold type makes abundantly clear Pallemar.

Wow, Palle, This is amazing.. All the 26 years, I was a witness, and how they beat everyone to a pulp for anything.. sexual. As though we are not sexual human beings?????
I got this out of my Strong's Exhaustive :
pornia in the ancient greek : harlotry (includ. adultry and incest) idolatry =fornication
porneuo: to act the harlot (lit.) indulge unlawful lust of either sex, or practise idolatry...commit fornication
I don't think fornication is idolatry in itself.. But excessive sex is like porn.
God nor Jesus said anything about getting married before having sex.
But here in Ex. 22:16, 17 Deut. 22:28, 29 It says (under the law) if a man had intercourse with a woman, who was not engaged, he was required to marry the girl and to pay her father the purchase price for the bride and could not divorce her all his days. Even if her father refused to give him the girl in marriage, the man had to pay the purchase price to the father.
So I'm getting the idea, that sex with engaged couples on occasion, would be okay? What do you think.??

Pallemar, Apparently sexual intercourse makes people married. I read in Genesis 24:67 whereby Rebekeh entered Isaacs tent and 'he took her'. In today's world, especially the JW world, this marriage would be considered 'common law' and just not on. Witchettygrub
