Years ago the JWs said that in Pre-Flood times the light from the sun would be diffused by the cload canopy, and that the outlines of the Sun and Moon would hazy and not distinct.

It would be then as it is now when the sky is very cloudy.

However, all this speculation was just off the top of their heads, and not based upon any actual knowledge of the physics of light.

Today the Watchtower doesn't even try to explain the physical nature of the pre-flood world. They know that in doing so in the past, they have been embarrassingly caught talking about things they don't know about and saying things just outright wrong.

So now the Watchtower just says what the Bible says and doesn't even try to speculate about any additional details.

I remember it being explained that once the cloud canopy was gone that had filtered the sun, the radiation from the sun was free to reach people on the Earth and that's why people don't live to a thousand years old any more, because they are now exposed to the sun's radiation, something that God had not intended in pre flood days.

Any one else remember this explanation?

I believed it at the time, but it sounds like bs now, like everything else they say.

I remember watching a programme that said someone had invented light bulbs as early as Noahs day.

It was refreshing for someone other than the dubs to have a kooky freak theory for once.
