Well the Watchtower Society are obviously scared by the scripture, hence the decision to not include it in the Appendix of the everyday New World Translation bible.

I guess they reason "The less the brothers see this scripture the better". It's this dishonesty that riles me more than whatever silly spin they put on explaining the scripture.

I love the JW vernacular always talks about "the" great crowd, of course the Bible nowhere mentions "the" great crowd. It's "a" great crowd, people! Learn to read!

Why do you have to rely on something Greg Stafford said? You should be able to find sufficient material on this important verse from the "Faithful Slave".

Well, I gave the slaves response already, they view it as Angels and simply show the how the words themsleves "great crowd" are not important. If it will make you feel better, I will not dig up Gre's work, kay?

Nah, no ill motive IMO for not including it the appendix, many scholars with no Jw connections see this as the Angels too. The fact it is a "great corwd" and not "the great crowd" is a point we make.

I appreciate your reply, you did indeed state what I recall to be the Society's answer. I would like to see the publication reference where it is explained....I know it is one of the scriptures that rarely gets a mention in any JW publication.

In any event, the NWT inserts the words "you people" where it does not exist in the texts. It is not translated, it is inserted. In each case. Check your KIT.

You are right, strike that one from the discussion as that does not prove anything.

Revelation only mentions the great crowd with the indefinite article "a" in all cases, I believe...

Why would John use the term "great crowd" only 3 times referring to a group in heaven or in the temple, but yet you say he is referring to different great crowds?

The term is too specific in my opinion, and used so Sparingly by John, I cannot believe John is referring to different great crowds. We have a plethora of great crowds.

If you are talking about something specific, you usually use the definite article. I have "a cat" but If I am referring to her specifically I call her "the cat....in the gray cat sweater...(wife's idea for the sweater)..... the WT does not make a point with "the" great crowd in vs... being important or more important because of a definite article I am sure I can explain that less stupid in the morniing, but I think it gets my point across.

I forget all that Greek stuff!! All I know in the NWT is the it always says "a great crowd" never "the great crowd", yet all the Witnesses ever talk about is "the great crowd".

If you asked the average JW how many great crowds are there in Revelation, I am sure the answer would always be "1". They are kept in the dark about Rev. 19:1 for this particular reason.
