..........well......it is kinda different..........instead of "the end of this system of things" it's "the end of false religion."
i guess that's one way to get newbies......tell 'em there church is gonna be destroyed or taxed out of existence. come join us,we're a service organization

Ok - so they must be linking up the call THE END IS NEAR with the study (albeit 3rd) of the Rev. Book. A kid who works in our service dept. stopped me and said "did you hear the news" and I was not clear as to what he was referring to so I said "you go first and I will either admit to having heard it or lie and deny it". His response was "that we are studying the Rev book again because of the times we are living in". Which of course made me laugh and I said "well the first time was tough, the second time was a bore and I guess the third time will just have to happen w/o me. but in typical JW style, three times for emphasis." He laughed.
This kid is pretty laid back, his JW auntie raised him and she died several years ago, I get the impression he stayed in to please her. he is now married to a JW and I think he goes through the motions. He is not preachy, but I did think it interesting that he brought it up to me because we NEVER discuss the religion. He knows my position on the whole thing and has always been very respectful of me. Great kid really. So I wonder how much they are drilling in people's heads over this whole THE SKY IS FALLING theory.
It would be so interesting if all the religions of the world would pull together and go after the Watchtower and sue them for all they have and shut it down.
How in the world can it be called " Public service" and you are telling people your religion is soon to be destroyed? What a waste of time, just as the tract just placed inviting people to the DC, congr. working their butt off to cover the territory before the convention and how many of them went out of their way and travel hours to be at a convention of JW's. The society is smart, they realize by giving an assignment, the elders will push the rank and file to be out there............. more hrs in the field and numbers will be looking much better. PS One congr. with 153 pubs.......... only 110 picked up their tracks......... few 1000's will end up in the trash.
somthing tells me this is the real deal!
They've been doing this as far back as I can remember. I recall one such "big campaign" in the early 1970s. This is nothing but cheerleading for the JW troops.
My thoughts exactly.................right down to the subject. Before 1975, we did a campaign that was very similar about Babylon the Great.
I am so happy I have different neighbors now. I told all of them all religions would be destroyed soon. 30 FREAKING YEARS AGO!!!

I SO believed every thing I was told by the WTS, and I was out full-force morning-noon-night during that same campaign......right up until dark we were knocking on doors.
I had emphatically told ALL my relatives and the friends that would listen to me----that we had only a very short time to get right with God and the rest will DIE after 1975.
Thank GOODNESS I moved out-of-state in the summer of 1974 and never had to face any of them.....
hugs,
Annie
Make plans now to have a full share in this worldwide campaign to let all know that the end of false religion is near!
Doesn't sound like a message any church goer would even want to continue....it's an insult, plain and simple.
It was supposed to be so exciting to take part in the distribution of the Kingdom News. They were like flyers, so much easier for irregular publishers to place .... they could reactivate so easy without having to get a presentation all figured out and then change it in 2 weeks.
