As I have posted about getting colon CA and having surgery and now going through chemo, the stress on me for keeping up my responsibilities at work and keeping up a home. Here is an update. I am doing ok and Jake is finally doing housework as I just don't have the energy to do it. His mom who loves me like her own came over and cooked dinner and said she will check on me daily. Jake is working every day and the owner of the company is filling in for me and giving me my full pay. I am so encouraged by you all. Years ago in 1981 I had a very bad health problem and I was active as a witness and they didn't do anything like the worldly folks have done for me now that I am going through this. My doctor says I will beat this and there is no further sign at this time of cancer and he believes he caught it very early. I changed my phone number and now my kids don't have the new number. When I am over this I will contact them. I still do love them despite all the hate and crap that has happened lately but I WILL SURVIVE! Once again THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear you are doing better today. Remember, that chemo can be a bear. You can feel all right one day, and then it comes to hit you a few days later again. Continue to be kind to yourself, and this board has big shoulders. If you need to dump again, dump away.

I think I love your doctor.

Thanks for the update. I'm so glad that people are stepping up to help.

Sometimes, especially at the beginning of treatment, people around us feel as shocked (and angry) as we do. And they often feel so helpless that they forget how much some simple things can make all the difference in the world.

One simple thing for me was moving my clothes from the washer to the dryer. I preferred to do my own laundry but moving to the dryer wore me out. I also like having someone in the house during my chemo weekends because I was nearly comatose for those 36 hours. Someone to answer the phone and door and just to peek in on me really helped me feel comfortable.

Relish those who offer help. Let them help any way possible. And remember to find fun.

    You will do just fine.

    -Aude.
