What do the endless debates with ThirdWitness etc prove?

patience - no that's not it

more like if you give a man a rope eventually he will hang himself with it.

The "fine witness" he gives is a wonderful inoculation for those who might be evenly slightly/remotely interested in studying with the JWs

I hate those debates and usually don't even read them. Too stressful and doesn't make any sense or matter to me anyway. I have my freedom and that is all I need.

It shows the Newbies and Lurkers, the weak intellectual abilities and arguements of a person like Third Witness..Truth is not within him,and it is there for all to see...OUTLAW

It proves he was WAY too much time on his hands. Unless, of course, he is counting this in his field service time. Or maybe he's working overtime in the Bethel basement and the fumes are overcoming him!!

You know, I made a sarcastic joke about this to thirdwitness one time. I think he really is counting his time doing this. Think about it, why would someone spend this much time defending Watchtower doctrine on an "apostate" website? To my knowledge, thirdwitness has never denied it.

    Too true.

I think the debates are great, and it is good the moderators allow them. Part of leaving the clutches of the WTS is too learn that there are other sides to the story. As I JW I ignorantly thought only JWs knew the bible. I now realise that the JW knowledge is shallow and WTS 'scholars' know very little compared to true scholars. Most Watchtower writers work solely to support old Rutherford/Franz doctrine, rather than have a holistic knowledge of the Bible.

However, the Bible does not provide any clear cut answers to many questions, hence the existence of 30,000 Christian sects. It is arrogant to claim that a particular institution is the only one with The Truth and worthy of salvation.

They prove that some people like to practice typing with nonsense that circles around to mean nothing in the end. Yet it does improve your per minute average in words for typing.

I think he is a pioneer who has alienated everyone else in his congregation with his debates so no-one wants to work with him from house to house (the others just want to do some token hours knocking on doors where people aren't home).

It proves that the writing of many words in endless debates is wearisome to the flesh! --VM44
