You men, now that you're out of the Witnesses do you still find yourself wearing neckties? Are you keeping them? How about suits, do you ever wear them anywhere?

You women, do you dress any differently now that you are not associated?

Apart from dressing reasonably well for work, neither me nor my boyfriend dress anything like we dressed as jws. He doesn't have to wear a tie for work, and I can't actually remember him wearing one this year.

Since I haven't gone to a meeting in a about a year, I haven't worn a dress very often. I can wear slacks to work. On a happy note-dresses are expensive, and so are suits. I think we've saved alot of money on clothes and dry-cleaning bills!!!

I try to dress according to this excellent advice-with dignity and self respect and respect for others.

I wear skirts above the knee again and don't buy so many crewneck shirts. I no longer cover up my own sense of style.

If this is an ex-JW site and no one seems to be wearing too many ties, why do I keep seeing adds at the bottom of my screen for all silk ties for $4.99? Who's buying them suckers?

About two years ago, I went through my closet and got rid of all my "meeting clothes", "meeting shoes", and "service bags". I donated them to the Salvation Army.... to be relatively sure that no JW would get them.

I only have a couple of "nice" dresses and suits left, and those were purchased after leaving the JWs. I've even worn a nice pair of pants, a sweater and vest to a job interview - and I was hired!! So much for the WTS's notion that women have to wear dresses and nylons in order to be a successful job applicant.

For work, I wear scrub tops and pants - no "business" attire needed.

I still wear dresses alot, because they are comfortable, but they are definitely NOT dresses I would have worn to the Hall. My Mom NEVER wears a dress now, she always hated putting them on. My Dad has to wear a tie every once in a while, but no suits. My Brother would not wear a suit to save his life nowdays.

Mostly denim pants/capris and black t-shirts. Short sleeves in summer, long in winter. I occasionally trade out with yoga pants, and have been known to wear other non-denim jeans on occasion. I last wore a dress for a wedding, but it was probably not very KH appropriate. Other than VERY special occasions, I avoid things that would require wearing dresses or even dress pants and dress shoes. A nice shirt I can handle. It seems to be the biggest visceral reaction I have developed after leaving the Dubs, I HATE jwish dress clothes, actually get a knot in my stomach if I have to put on pantyhose.
At the moment, I am wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt. Fortunately, I can wear the same type of clothing for work.
