this guy was really cool, I loved his spirit of adventure... I'm sorry to see him go. Reminds me of the bear man who was killed about two years ago. You have to respect wild life... and carry a big gun.

I realize this was a freak accident but it makes me feel a little guilty about taking my kids to "StingRay City" in the Caymans numerous times and swimming with hundreds of them!!! All I was ever warned about was not stepping on them. I had no idea they could shoot those barbs out at any time. I wonder if that will make a difference in the many places around the world that feature these stingray petting zoos? Honestly, I had never even heard of anyone dying from this, although I realized that it could be very painful should you step on the tail/barb.
I just can't imagine what his family is going through...although, his wife had to be somewhat prepared to recieve some bad news due to his line of work. It certainly would have been a thought that she intertained, but nonetheless, the grief must be overwhelming.

The CEO of the RSPCA here in Australia called him a modern day Noah. He also stated he is one of the few people who put his money where his mouth is.
I thought that was a really high accolade.

his lifestyle had nothing to do with it....freak accident....less than three deaths in Australia from sting rays.
How many of you have gone scuba diving? could have happened to you. A Croc didn't kill him, he had a freak accident.
