After more than two years of legal wrangling, claims in Napa County Superior Court that the Jehovah's Witnesses church failed to stop incidents of child sex ... By DAVID RYAN, Register Staff Writer
Tuesday, September 5, 2006 1:11 AM PDT After more than two years of legal wrangling, claims in Napa County Superior Court that the Jehovah's Witnesses church failed to stop incidents of child sex abuse here are inching toward trial.

According to an Aug. 14 court order signed by Napa County Superior Court Judge Raymond Guadagni, lawyers shepherding several cases against the church, involving plaintiffs from multiple counties, are finally on the cusp of setting a 2007 trial date. Previous court hearings had been marked by disagreement over legal procedures and decisions by several out-of-county plaintiffs to drop their lawsuits against the church.

In the two Napa cases, people identified only as Charissa W., Nicole D. and Tabitha H. have filed suit against the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Watchtower Bible and Tract Society -- the administrative organization of the Jehovah's Witnesses -- claiming church policy did not protect them from being sexually abused as minors. They claim to have been abused by Edward Bedoya Villegas, a convicted child molester who is now deceased but at one time was affiliated with the church. [email protected] send letter to editor

The WTS SEZ it is God's chosen religion.

These deluded men will tell you that Jesus invisibly came and handpicked them to the exclusion of all others in 1919.

The WTS has been predicting and speculating dates for "THE END" and are never held accountable for their lies.

They are sure as hell not going to admit they are responsible for all those little kids that were and are still being molested by the pedophiles wthin the walls of this cult.

The WTS is as vile as the bottom of a cesspool which they have no desire to clean. They LIKE things this way.

They are as slick and sneaky as snakes and have nicely slithered out from under a pile of lawsuits concerning pedophilia with their handy "biblical" two-witness scapegoat.

Their crackerjack legal department have cleverly demonstrated they are above the laws of any land, and are not accountable for any physical or mental harm done to those that trusted in them.

We know the victims of child molestation---THE WTS victims---being both the children and their parents.....are being raped yet again by God's chosen religion.

AS a shining beacon standing alone as THE example of "what God wants"..... they are above any spiritual harm they have done to their victims, although their victims will never be the same ever again and will live with this total betrayal for the rest of their lives.

The evil men who run the WTS are riding high on a sea of smugness and arrogance, watching it all as they seem to successfully beat down victim after victim for their more evil Watchtowergod.

The WTS says THEY don't believe in the "God of Good Luck", but have actually been riding on his coattails for as long as they have been in existence. Their luck has GOT to run out. It's only a matter of time.

SOMEBODY will hold their feet to the fire and this pitiful and despicable excuse for a "religion"...

AND ALL those who run it...

AND all those who support it...

...WILL BE held accountable for ALL the harm they have deliberately done and all the damage they have caused!

I dearly hope you are reading this, WTS!

The sun will shine in MANY hearts once again when you stop hiding behind your contrived "laws" and "cover-your-a$$" policies like the cowards you are!

    It can't last forever.

    Hey Danny,

Wouldn't it be interesting if members of the GB who instituted the current policies were forced to testify? I would like to see them have to defend this policy in front of a jury without the aid of one of J.R. Brown's press releases to do the talking for them.

As someone who has seen a case of child abuse within my congregation badly mishandled by the elders, and seen the evidence of the world wide cover up of theses cases by the Society, I have to agree with every word in Sunspots' post.

There is no longer any question, if there ever was, that the Watchtower sre hiding behind there 2 - witness rule, and using it to cover up the worst kinds of abuse imaginable. Worse, they will almost certainly carry on doing this, unless some of the numerous lawsuits are successful, and enforce a change.

I would hope that these lawsuits are won, and end up costing the Society millions. Then they may be forced to change foe financial reasons, which are the wrong reasons really, but if it saves more children from the unimaginable sufferring that some victims have been forced to endure, then it will be a change for the better, even if it is for financial reasons rather than because of human decency, which I wonder if the Society are even capable of nowadays.
