So, what are your thoughts on this. My MS friend who was down a few weeks ago is a great guy, he just accepts the WTS hook line and sinker. I asked him about the NGO thing and he knew nothing of it. I told him that was the main reason for not going back. Well, he e-mailed me with some pics of his house (which I asked for). In my e-mail back to him I included the NGO letter from the UN and asked him to take a look at it. What do you think his response if any will be? If he bites where should I go with this, next step?

I hope he does reply. I have not had much success in that regard. One elder handed it back when he saw the portion about 'agreement with the UN charter', saying it was obviously a fabrication. Another refused to look at anything that came out of the UN website, stating that 'we know the UN is God's enemy, so how could we trust anything they published'. Several that I have contacted thru the past few years have never acknowledged that they even looked at it.

I just think they are too terrified to look at the curtain when it gets pulled back.

Good luck and let us know.

Well you'll at least find out if he is indeed a 'friend' or not. I hope he is!

I'm not sure that it will have much of an effect. The wts published their letter about their NGO status, and accused apostates of stirring the pot with false accusations, and most loyal dubs tend to take the wts line over secular sources.

I hope he does read it and research the implications, but don't be too disappointed if he doesn't.

    How he will respond

It depends on how open-minded he is or is willing to be. Do not underestimate
the brainwashing power of the Watchtower Society. My experience regarding
the same scenario was that both individuals became hostile and offended and
    both were lost .

    The possiblity does exist

I am not going to say that he will now become your ex-friend because you
showed him the document from the United Nations. Just keep in mind that
this scenario can go either way.

    Respectfully,

    The Wanderer

Most will put faith in the GB and say they had a very good reason for joining in order to benefit the brotherhood.
