  I'm busting to say something here!

  My father-in-law was brought to his elders for molestation over twelve years ago ....naturally pleaded innocent....and in the meantime the elders let him do building work on his hall in that time!! Where's the holy spirit here! Same elders there who naturally keep it secret that he is a scum pedophile.

  Also years ago a local elder "donated" land for the local KH and was involved in it's building ,turns out he molested his daughter too !!

  I don't swear usually but this hypocrisy and spiritual blindness gives me the shits,and I hate the orgs guts.

  Strength to Bill. I hope he gets a clue soon (although the fact that he stopped going to the meetings again is certainly a good sign) and is able to have a happy life someday.
  
  On another note, I just don't know what to make of his choices in women, or is it his way of relating to them? What the heck is going on there?

  P.S. Seems to me I remember hearing about concrete not drying properly and mildewing or something because the structure went up too fast. One would think that with Holy Spirit presiding as construction foreman these sorts of issues would not arise.

  Hello all...

  Thought this topic was interesting since just the other evening a clip of the news came on about a religous group that planned to put up a church in 2 days. Of course I had to stay up and watch the segment. Turns out it was NOT the Witnesses at all. But a church that had 300 people show up and from start to finish it was 2 days, just in time for Sunday Service. The first thing I thought of was how I used to feel such pride when helping out on quick builds. Like we were the ONLY ones in the whole world that had such capability. That it was ONLY through Jehovahs blessing that such a thing could unite people from all over to make such a event come together. This just goes to show you, ANYONE can do a quickbuild if you have enough volunteers!

  SkyKing mentioned teamwork. Certainly that is a factor.

  An even larger factor in the "success" of the WTB&TS has been SLAVE LABOR.

  Commercial projects go more slowly because it is not economically feasible to pay a bunch of yokels to stand around being macho while a core group does the heavy lifting.

  The WATCHTOWER has been eating at the FREE LUCH counter for so many years they feel entitled.

  Watch them scurry about, though, when an aging Bethelite files a workman's comp claim! HORRORS!

  "Bill" was raised by seriously disturbed individuals. A father with severe anger problems (probably an anger disorder) and a mother with serious anxiety problems which were only exacerbated by her husband's vagaries and impulses. I will spare you the pop psychology, but it's likely that he makes bad choices in women AND that he is no picnic to be married to.
  I'm not sure if it's good he's no longer going to the meetings. He may have been better off as a Witness--yes, there are circumstances where this is possible.
  As far as the quick builds go--thank you everyone for the evidence that the Witnesses don't have a corner on this market (and in fact didn't even coin the term Quick Build.) I have helped on many quick builds. There are many stories I could tell about the Soviet Russia style corruption and waste that were always a prominent feature, the internal politics, the meticulous attention to outward appearances...
