    Organizing the movement

An individual posted an interesting thread regarding organizing
the "apostate" movement and it seemed to get some positive
    feedback.

Thoughts going in a similar direction

Personally, my own thoughts would be for a documentary or movie to expose
the Watchtower Society in the same way that the Mormons have received
    recent media exposure.

Thousands of individuals on this board

There is no reason why something cannot be done to help remedy the
losses and pain that many on this board have had to endure regarding
this corporation. We are many, but we need to become one.

    Brainstorming

This thread is a very important issue, so can individuals please share
their thoughts and ideas [please be realistic] regarding some kind
    of movement or organization.

    Respectfully,

    The Wanderer

i completely agree, i would be more than happy to offer ideas/suggestions and help manage some of it.

a film/documentary combined with a presence on the internet and a huge number of people = attention

I'd prefer that it grow as it has, organically. Some wage personal campaigns to win over their family members. Some write books. Some post informational websites. Some make the T-shirt, others buy them.

I'd also rather that we NOT have a membership list and formal structure. Such a coordinated, centralized organization would be more vulnerable to infiltration or take-down.

Besides, former JW's are allergic to organization.

I do like gathering tools like www.meetup.com and www.jehovahs-witness.com . Special interest groups, such as "Unbelieving Mates" or "Former Bethelites" can set up private support groups on the web through http://groups.msn.com or http://groups.yahoo.com

There may be room to build a franchise-type site, a "how-to" on how to build a support group, how to find members, how to make it successful, provide a forum for mutual support, and regular social gatherings.

I envision hundreds of private support groups, loosely joined by association and apostafests, independently chipping away at the Beast.

It's a good idea it comes up from time to time but somehow it never took off in the past, being organised means being more efficient, perhaps because the ex dubs follow so many different routes after exiting.

I think a good idea would be to produce a 'standard' letter/leaflet with information (even using quotes from the Society's literature, you know the sort of thing ), which the average JW is NOT aware of - and target specific members of each Congregation.

    I AGREE 100%!

Why "standard", Midwich? Why not dozens of different versions? Danny Haszard has some www.dannyhaszard.com/, so does rebel8 http://www.jwinfo.8m.com/. It's much easier for the WTBTS to tailor a response to a single assault, but they really are not equipped for the huge variety of ex-witness responses. We can also move faster on an idea, once inspired. Case in point, letters to the editor every time a JW makes the news.

Also, let's not forget the T-shirts:

Another favorite of mine are the audio and video documentaries of the disfellowshipping process, published on the web for all to see.

One day I might decide to organize you guys, but I can't be bothered right now. Besides, I have not technically left, only in spirit.
