We were building a new KH- not quick build- and we had to vacate the old building and the new KH was not finished. The Elders decided to cancel all the meeting with the exception of the tuesday night bookstudy in homes. We had no other meetings for about 4-5 weeks. It was great- I never heard one complaint about it. Nobody ever said they missed the Theocratic school or Service meeting. I think the brothers enjoyed having the extra time at home, I know I sure did. When the Circuit Overseer found out a few months later what had happened, we heard he read the riot act to the Elders for doing that.
Did your Kingdom hall ever cancel meetings?

I can remember meetings being cancelled due to bad winter weather.

When the Circuit Overseer found out a few months later what had happened, we heard he read the riot act to the Elders for doing that.
He was probably jealous.
We had some meetings cancelled because of bad weather, and during a renovation project. But the elders sternly told the congregation to attend meetings at other halls during the renovation.

Lucky you! We've had bad weather cancellations and once a Brother didn't show up to give the Public Talk. We did the Watchtower Study and went home. That was a pretty good day.

When we were refurbishing our hall around 10 years ago, our meetings were cancelled for a few weeks. No one complained, and some didn't want them to start again!

A question worth knowing, was there anybody who appeared upset by a meeting being cancled? I mean to miss out on the Joy of setting at Jehovah's spiritual table... it sure didn't brake my heart.

I've never had a full meeting cancelled, but quite a few times they haven't been able to find a speaker for the public talk and we've just had the Watchtower, or the Watchtower and a fire drill.
Happens about 4 or 5 times a year actually, it's great! -

Only for extreme weather...usually snowstorms would cancel a meeting. I remember meetings being canceled due to a hurricane that made it inland pretty far and had caused some damage in the area.
