Truth that Leads to Eternal Life - This book had a huge impact for me. The beginning of a very long, sad journey.............
Crisis of Conscience - Gave me facts that supported what I had felt for quite awhile. And a lot of insight.
Pride and Prejudice, Dicken's books to learn about the societal problems, etc. at the time.
Bridges of Madison County - a wife's/mother's sacrifice for her family over her own desires (didn't like the adultery part though)
Otherwise most all of the books I read are fiction - not real deep. No "message".

Oddly enough it was a religious book and I read it 12 years before I left Dubdom, but it had the biggest impact on me bar none;
The Amazing Results of the Power of Positive Thinking by, Norman Vincent Peale
I found this at a thrift store and it looked interesting once I started reading it I couldn't put it down, then I got the book it was about The Power of Positive Thinking and I also paid for a subscription for several years to his newsletter Guideposts.
I remember my X husband used to get upset at them coming to our house so I started hiding them from him, but eventually liked what they said so much better than the Asleep!™ that I left them out for my kids to read. We had book study™ at our house and I left them out (in the bathroom), no one ever commented about them, LOL.
