I admittedly am new to this and I am not being judgmental. Why does it seem that when I read the threads from folks in the UK it seems they are preoccupied with a lot of research into the WTS and changes into their beliefs? Why not just let it go and go on with life. I have received many responses from a lot of folks and all seem so full of love. Is the branch office in the UK different than the USA?

When you have devoted 25 years to something that you then find out is a load of bullshit, you are entitled to feel angry, plus the fact a lot of lives have been affected by being controlled by this evil cult. I personally have had to prove to myself that it is not true and it is not easy to just `let it go` when you have a large chunk of your life messed up by it.

i think maybe it's because the UK press has had more negative press out for jw's to read.

I'm not so sure that the Brits are any angrier. This isn't something that I have noticed. I think it may depend in large part on the particular thread topics. Some subjects just evoke more anger and resentment than others. There are certainly topics that get me angrier than others.

I think that getting angy and expressing it is an important part of the healing process. It's a typical process that people from the Unification Church, and other high control groups have gone through. It's just a temporary phase for most people.

I spent the best years of my life listening to wts crap, waiting for a "new system" which would make all the sacrifice worthwhile. Ok, most of us on here had the same "hope" at one time, and when I found out it wasn't true, I was pretty angry with the lying ba****ds who talked me into wasting all those years.

I'm not so angry now, I'm quite happy with my life, but when I get the opportunity to do something damaging to the wts, I tend to take it. As far as I am concerned, they deserve every bit of negative publicity they get.

    Really?

I suggest you look more closely at some posting by Americans. Quite a few which a very vitriolic in tone.

As to those in UK being preoccupied with research. Check out the amount put on here by Americans. Its from them that I have had most information about the WT.

You can apply "Why not let it go and go on with life" to us all on here. But when you discover that 20+ years of your life has been served in supporting a lie. Then we have every right to be a bit irate. No matter where you are. You can't just brush it under the carpet as if it never happened.

I to have received many responses from others with love. What makes you think those in UK are different in that regard?

The branch office in UK is no different from USA, its run by idiots just the same.

    hambeak,

are you saying you got loving responses from the U.S. branch offices that actually answered your Q's? THAT I have got to see. Would you mind posting one of the loving letters you recieved?

Anger is part of the healing process. People were duped by the WT and their lives messed up. Many lost their loved ones in the process and have been spiritually and emotionally abused due to the changes in WT doctrine (flip flops to be exact). Some have lost loved ones to sickness due to the false blood ban and these people cannot be brought back. Those who are angry have a right to be MAD if they choose to for as long as they choose to. When they are ready, and get it out of their systems, they will move on. Lilly

Probably the real difference is between congregations, more than between different countries.

Some would have been better off in different congregations.
