I wasted...completely wasted 13 precious years of my life in that cult of jws. Joining that cult was my one single biggest mistake in my life that has cost me far too much

I am so happy to e- you again (((HUGS)) Sorry about you son as you know I lost 3 in death it is SO difficult to get over.... But the above that you wrote in yellow I have to disagree with You may think you wasted them but I am sure you will be able to help others is your walk away...I felt my 25 years were wasted -but I now know-- I wouldnt have the compassion I have for all that are trapped in a false belief....You have been there done that. I KNOW you will help someone in the walk you are doing now. Hope the memories of your son ( the good ones & the bad ones) gives you a feeling of closeness to him. I think of my kids often- some times I smile of the memory sometimes I cry -I am sure your doing the same Hang in there love ((((((((((((HUGS))))

Raylon I went back and read your experience. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure you needed time away for you have been through so much. Each of your post made my heart ache and I really hope that you have found a peace. I raised your topic in the beginning to the top for I think it is one that will still and always inspire new posters. Blondie is right. Everyone should read it.

I hope that you are able to stay around a bit, but understand if this is just a drop in.

    Nice to meet you,

    Decki

    G'DAY RALON.

IT WAS NICE OF YOU TO STOP IN ON OLD FRIENDS AND SAY 'HI'.

AS YOU HAVE MANY OF US HAVE LOST A LOT DUE TO THIS RELIGION. WE ALL HAVE TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR OURSELVES AND OUR OWN PERSONAL HEALING.

I WILL FOLLOW BLONDIE'S SUGGESTION AND READ YOUR HISTORY.

TAKE CARE AND PEACE TO YOU.

    JUNI HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO!

Perhaps you'll tell us of your travels and any remarkable people you met on the way?

    Best wishes,

    Dear Ralon,

Welcome back. While you were away, many others have found out the truth about the organization. And like you this board has been a source of great support, friendship, information as well as a confirmation that were are all not crazy for feeling the way we do once we find the deception. Many need to move on with your life such as yourself. I am terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your son. Please know you ALWAYS have a support system here waiting for you if you need it. We are "all in this together". Take care, and we look forward to hearing from you from time to time.

    Sincerely,

    Ralon,

I agree, all one can do is put the past behind. You can't change the past, the only effect one can have is on the future. I don't regret my forty years in the org. but...I'll use an analogy. If I purchased a dozen eggs and got them home, ready to put into the cooler, and I noticed that a couple of them were broken, I wouldn't throw the whole batch away. I'd just pick out the bad ones and keep the rest, because the rest are still in good shape. Like the eggs, I look at my history and think about the things that were good, the things I can use today, the things that will benefit me now...going forward.
