When a jw has a major fall out within the congregation...

.... how often does it lead to an eventual exit?

I know some real nice, joined as adult jw's who have had a major fallout with their cong.

They are model, idealistic jw's. But politics between these folks and an elder led to him being summarily stripped of his "privileges". They are really upset, and they are concerned that others view them negatively since they all know he was stripped, but they don't know why. They feel a very large sense of injustice. (Boy you can always count on your local boe to act like creeps can't you?) They have been in about 10 to 15 years. They are both real smart folks.

I know, everybody is different, so it is just speculation. But in your professional, ex-jw opinions, how likely is it that one or both of these two will start asking all those dangerous questions? How likely is it that they will stay in the org?

If they are treated like dissenters in my old kh were treated by the boe, it might not be long before they start questioning a few things, however committed they are now. If the elders have got it in for you, they are more than capable of making your life an absolute hell.

I agree, the elders can really harp on them, make life generally miserable...then they may start some questioning. Hopefully!

My life was made hell by one particular elder who told wicked lies about me, and the rest of the BOE backed him up. I'm not going into detail at this stage, but I eventually resigned as a ms. This was the final straw with this organisation, about a month before I left, the elders realised that it wasn't true, but this idiot is still an elder to this day.

I had an incident where two elders wives were jealous of me and I refused to bow down to them or fear them as I had truth on my side - well, they continually harrased me for over three years and spread rumors about me, my hubby and my kids (ages 8 & 10 at the time) and I got no help from the elders at all. I even went to and pleaded with the two elder husbands to control their wives becasue they were dividing the KH and harrasing me. They both played dumb like they had no idea what I was talking about.

Went to the PO - nothing done about it

went to the CO - nothing done about it

I eventually left and went to another hall even though I had to drive way out of the way and the old hall was right around the corner from my home. In a short time there were other problems in that hall. Harrasement because I did not want to join the "school" and gossip, etc. Plus for a long time I did not agree with many of their teachings.

This is when I finally began praying really hard to God for guidance on what to do and a few months later my prayers were answered. We had several WT's in a row that I seemed to notice all the false teachings and twisting scriptures more than usual. It got so bad I sat on the edge of my seat wanting to scream. I knew I had to get out of this org. and one day I walked out during the WT study and never went back. Lilly

    I DA'd a few months later. Lilly

Unfortunately, most Witnesses might view what happened as an isolated case of imperfection among otherwise Godly men.

Now, we know the real scope, don't we?

Any way of giving them a push in the right direction? It would be nice if someone could get them to check out info on the internet or read a book about the Watchtower. They may do this on their own or as lovelylil mentioned they may go looking for another hall where they think they will fit in better.

Dubs are so effectively brainwashed that someone in that situation (just had a major fallout, etc.) may be the LEAST likely person to bail. Why? Because he knows that everybody will say, "He allowed himself to be stumbled; I guess he wasn't very spiritual."

They all think this is a big test and if you can see that the emperor has no clothes, and you talk about it, you've flunked.

I find it interesting that more than 90000 congregation around the world and we have the same horror stories about the elders and how they treat others.

They have but one spiirit received from the governing body and often they treat the flock like crap no matter what part of the world they live in.
