I grew up in it and was probably a little above average. I feel the jws of the 50s and 60s were more knowledgeable about the bible and wt dogma. Most of the ones I knew were rip-snortin rootin tootin door bangers, who would engage in "witnessing" at the drop of a hat and love every minute of it. It was to be sure all wt, but there was more freedom to be versatile. I read everything I could get my hands on and large portions of the bible as well. Of course I rationalized it all around the wt, forcing that square peg into a round hole. Which means in the end I really didn't gain much. But it was a helleva ride while it lasted..
