Last night, my wife went to a community meeting, in which a new supermarket is moving in. This market is called Testco (sp?). According to what she told me, this store is British based, so I was curious what it was all about, and whether or not it was good, bad or indifferent.
Please give me your feedback.

I think you are refering to Tesco. Quite a large type supermarket shop, selling food, electricals, clothes & also sells insurance.

It will be Tesco, and they are pretty good shops in the UK.
Not as good as Waitrose, but ok.
So this appears to be your countries version of Wal-Mart, correct? If so this is not good. I am not a fan of Wal-Mart, and most of the people in this community (at least the voting citizens) are also very anti-Wal-Mart, then we might be able to get this stopped.
From what my wife was told last night, this company is considering a huge expansion into America, and California. Now if I can corrolate this company's practices with Wal-Mart's then this is a dead duck.
My fear would be that the liberals uninformed persons in my community will be ennamored with this company since it is British, and not see what the big picture is. So please continue with your comments, good, bad or indifferent.

I think they are the biggest food retailers in the UK. Not many people really care about supermarket names they just go to the nearest one to their house. They are all very similar.
We get Tesco delivered, and they always make mistakes.
Tesco is big. It is often claimed that 1 in every 8 pounds spent in the UK is spent in Tescos.
