    Here is what I remember:

Huey Lewis and the News, Madona, Dire Straights, "Brothers in arms" ! I remember selling the first exciting computer called the Commodor 64.

There was space invaders, Vhs movies became a big deal such as "On golden pond" Beta reared its head but never took off.

My husband and I worked for a company selling these players/machines and renting movies in Chicago. My Husband was the District sales Manager for many stores. He made enough money to buy our first home.

I remember headbands, the start of working out, and huge glasses.

I delivered my first son in "84.

The beginning of my life: met Big Tex in 1981 (God, he was cute -- bedroom eyes and 19!), married in 1983, big hair, shoulder pads, Big Tex worked for American Airlines so we traveled a LOT, worked out, bought a house in a quaint neighborhood . . . discovered that quaint houses have quaint little problems like wood rot, roof rats, water bugs as big as my fist, and at least one old dead tree that felt a strong need to fall onto the back porch and part of the kitchen roof during a thunderstorm. Big Tex confronted his parents about his childhood and we started to see what "God's organization" was really made of. He was smart and walked out of "the Truth" in 1989. I hung on for 15 years but became more and more disillusioned.

Mmmm, great music in the '80's! MTV in all its glory! Miami Vice! I can still tell which season it is from the outfits (and Don Johnson's sagging biceps).

I notice that leggings are back this season -- can shoulder pads be far behind? The Fashion Police are wondering . . .
