I always thought it was a pretty name... and I believe it means "myrtle", which grew in the area I grew up.

I kid you not ---- There was a Polish family in the Monument, CO congregation(last name started with a B, dad was Polish and was also the PO; his father's life story was featured in an Awake). They had three daughters. The oldest was named Dorcas. The two younger maternal twin sisters had normal names(Rachel and something or other). They eventually moved to North Carolina.
When I first moved into that hall, I literally thought they were joking around with me. I was thinking, "Who on earth would call their daughter Dorcas in these times??" I can only imagine the teasing she had to endure.
Of course Joshua is a pretty hot name.

That's where my parents got my name from, they just altered it a bit.
Personally, I have always loved the name Daniel (though there are several Bible names that I really like).
