We all know that the the WTS does not believe in the Catholic Church's claim to having the keys of the kingdom or to "bind on earth the things bound in heaven" as it states im Matthew 16:19.
My question is: Does the Society teach that whatever decisions the Governing Body makes is "bound in heaven"? I tried finding something on the WT CD ROM but couldn't find anything.
Is there an official or even unofficial view of the GB and this scripture?
Logically they should since they claim to be the current successors of the apostles. Their approach is so grandiose, they think they are appointed by God Himself over all His earthly interests. They are plenipotentiaries.
I've read it when related to disfellowshipping or reinstating with the interpretation that we should accept any decision made by the elders or GB because if they prayed about a matter and then came to a certain conclusion, it's because God Almighty agreed. Someone once explained that if it was announced from the platform, it was already announced in heaven.

I was always told that decisions made by the elders, like df'ing or appointing elders or servants, were done with jehovahs approval. If they wanted to appoint someone, and he didn't approve, they would somehow find out something to stop the appointment. It sounded reasonable then, sounds like bs now though.
I heard on the news that the pope was only supposed to be infallible when it came to religious dogma, which is the same as doctrine. And, of course, he can change that doctrine. What is the difference between this and the explanation of "present truth"? The witnesses believe that whatever the society teaches right now is straight from God. And only they can change it. So, whether they use this scripture or not, they do the same thing.
JWs just better hope that there's no Loki and Bartleby out there wanting to take advantage of the WTS' flip-flops!!

Yeah, but this plenary indulgence thing is a church law, not Divine Mandate. Church laws are fallible because they're created by man.

I did a general search on the Society's CD ROM but I couldn't find something that said specificially whether they apply this scripture to themselves.......I'm wondering if maybe unofficially they do, but they don't want to put it in print????
They can barely bind their own shoelaces, and the last few years has seen a significant deterioration in the quality of their literature, including the binding.
