All Watchtower announcements are "BIG" as far as the Watchtower is concerned. These "BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS" are unnoticed by most of the world. Within a matter of weeks they are forgotten by most of the JWs too.

Yes, that was the big announcement. There was also a recently released Awake that discussed "Blood is an organ." You can find posts here on the forums.

it has gotten some of the rank and file excited and thinking that the end will be here by the end of the year.

From what I read on the posts here, and from reading the WT study articles, the Governing Body has gone back to making everyone think that "the end is right around the corner." They are desparate to get numbers up in developed countries (like the US). Donations are down, preaching is down, everything is down.

Also, IMO, special campaigns do more than get JWs preaching, they are cheaper than large campaigns with books or brochures. Keep em busy, but cut costs.

The Great Tribulation and Armageddon have already come and gone.....it just happened invisibly. This is the New System of Things. It too is invisible. Let's all give thanks to God.

Actually I reckon they will say something like this in a few years when they can no longer say we are in the Last Days. They will say that there was a Spiritual Armageddon and we are now living in the Spiritual New System and therefore all their prophecies have come true. So, all you doubters will then have to admit you were wrong! But you will be in Spiritual Gehenna and you have been Spirtually eaten by the Spiritual Ravens. All religion is gone (in a spiritual way) and we will all live forever (in a Spiritual way) Elder x will now be referred to as Prince x. Praise Jah for blessing His Worshipers

Hm, yes. I remember that too. Unless whichever person said this was thinking that the friendly "friends" will be unhappy to have to announce false religion's demise because they are all such compassionate, loving folk that they'll just hate, hate, hate to have to give such bad, sad news to the world.

I think someone also said that there was a special insert in the November KM on the 'blood' issue.

Whether that is relevant is yet to be revealed.
