As usual, the Watchtower is lying! How so?

They disfellowship lots of people who aren't "members of the congregation"! The liars in the Service Dept ( led by ReichFuhrer Jaracz)

never clearly let anyone go from their greedy grasp. You can walk away from the Kingdom Hall for decades and still have the

elders demanding to grill you about your latest 'serious' sins. There is no plain time limit in the Society's literature - so you

can be DF'd after years of not being a member of the congregation in any real sense.

Why doesn't the Society use the tiniest bit of logic that their addled neurons can muster and say 'if you haven't turned in time for a year,

you're not a Witness, no announcement, no nothin'? Why not let unhappy people quietly go?

Why? because they are filled with greed to dominate and control other people's lives, no different from 'worldly' men

like Stalin, Kim Jong ILL or others. This is the sort of attitude that built the Berlin Wall.

I did not read the article but did they mention running to the eldesr if you have a cigarette or two?

That's what makes me puke, is it not like the Cathoilic church that every time you even have a wrong thought

you should confess your sins to men and be purified by saying 10 Hail Mary.

They expect them to run to the elders and if you end up with 3 jerks that want to form a JC and tell you that smoking

is associated with demonism and will Df you,

That's the refreshment that some will get from the loving elders.

    (1 John 2:1-2) 2

My little children, I am writing YOU these things that YOU may not commit a sin. And yet, if anyone does commit a sin, we have a helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one. 2 And he is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s.

So for minor mistakes it should be between you and God and not the elders that will cause more stress in your life

If you commit a 'gross' sin once but confess immediately and show real 'repentance' at the JC, you will get on private reproof. If you do the same thing twice and again confess immediately and grovel and act contritely at the JC you might get lucky and they will again just put you on private reproof, maybe public. But if you do the same sin a third time, no matter how much time has elapsed since the last time, woe betide you! No matter how 'repentant' you are, they will already have made up their mind to disfellowship you on the basis that you have shown a 'pattern' of behaviour which they will state gives the lie to your earlier claims of repentance. You are a threat to the congo and you've got to go. You could blub your eyes out and go into the foetal position on the floor during the JC, it won't matter. THREE STRIKES AND YER OUT SUNNY! It's all about discipline, nothing to do with repentance.

'clearly, then , a sinner must be repentant if he is to receive mercy. However, neither shame nor fear of exposure is repentance. 'To repnet' meant 'to change one's mind' with regard to bad conduct, because of regret. A repentant person has 'a hear broken and crushed' and wants to 'right the wrong' if possible.

i was thinking about this last night and today again...i dont know how sorry king david was after he had covetted kidnapped raped stolen killed lied covered up manipulated etc etc but i do know he wasnt as sorry as i was..i had a heart broken and crushed and i wanted to right the wrong and it wasnt exposure that i was afraid of....but, because of the mental and emotional turmoil i was going thru when i went voluntarilly to the elders, the only real emotion that came thru at the jc - was shame..how any imperfect unqualified untrained elder is able to distinguish between shame that is genuinely repentant and shame that is not...well its beyond me...this merely allows elders to say well we recognized that he was ashamed but as the watchtower says that is not enough.

like you would go through the indignity of a jc for fun...

the other point that struck me was the writer of the article must know that it is not true..there may be some allowance for articles written that the writer genuinely believes to be true... but the writer of the statement to the effect that no repentant wrongdoer will ever be disfellowshipped is clearly not unaware that there are thousands of repentant people disfellowshipped every year...it would not be difficult to be honest and open and say something like...even with the direction of the bible and the organization there will be mistakes made due to the fact that elders are not infallible etc etc etc...but no, to admit this would be to admit that holy spirit does not direct the decisions and that therefore those who are aware of a wrong decision are morally bound to stand against it and continue to help the wronged person..

but that cannot ever be admitted can it..and so the writer of this statement is in my opinion competely and utterly reprehensible.

The Society calls for its elders to be mind readers and judges...they ask the impossible, even from exalted window cleaners, and other under educated persons. The easy call has got to be to DF most people except for friends and friends' kids.

I agree with Pistoff. This is not the way it happens in real life in the back room. They must have gotten a new writer on the staff for I have never heard such a heartfelt lying advertisement for the confession/df process before. Our families will read this and think "Tsk tsk, guess "so and so" was an unrepentant demon-hearted Devil worshiper. Good thing they were removed from our midsts!" when in truth what happened at that meeting was a travesty of justice and mercy by unprofessional unmerciful clods.

Naw... this article is 'damage control'. It is meant for those JWs that see all the ones getting the boot aka Disfellowshipped.

When they read this article, they will get the opinion that those who got the boot weren't 'repentant'.

It's also meant as a scare tactic... "See those getting the boot? Do you want to be like those?"

Their loving oil consisted of berating me, and then reading me that loving scripture about the dog returning to his vomit, and then say 'thats what you are right now!!" (exact words)

Its been 5 years, and that still makes me hot.

I will never ever go back to that shit. Ever.
