So we went down to Cancun again this year to scope out a few places we missed going to last year. The original thrill was gone - I almost felt like a local. But nevertheless, we had a pretty good time seeing the new spots. Here are some pics that I took(my wife took some of her own, I'll post a few of those when I get them):
I got started in a hurry by depleting our supply of Coronitas in the minibar within 5 minutes
Your typical wildlife(squirrels are to the US as iguanas are to Mexico) In my opinion, iguanas are the perfect wildlife to take photos of, they never move! -
Ahh, no hurricanes in sight!
Knocking back a real man's drink.
An underground cenote(50 meters deep!) where I went snorkeling(cold water...brrrr!) -
Another cenote(didn't swim in this one) -
Friendly lizard with a loooong tail -
This must be the largest flag in Mexico. I swear it is not Photoshopped!
Feeding the "regular" ray on Isla Contoy -
Lunch on Isla Contoy. Like I said earlier, iguanas are like squirrels in Mexico - damn little beggars...
This type of jellyfish totally surrounds Isla Contoy(tons of them) -
Posing for us -
Hotel sign on Isla Mujeres(I had to back up and take this pic, thought it was too funny) -
Cemetary on Isla Mujeres -
Can anyone translate what this means? Where this sign is, there are a bunch of run down shacks like you see in the picture. It seems to be a separated type of community(collective?).
And like Lady Lee posted on her thread, there were a few herons on Isla Contoy as well -
Whenever I get the SD card from my wife's camera, I'll put up a few more that she took.
