I don't know why but I had a hard battle not to fall asleep; and that would be on every freakin meeting. (never happened anywhere else)
But it did happen to one older bro. I remember always watching him fighting sleep too. One day it happened, room was so hot and oxygen almost non-existant that fell asleep and started snoring at the book study while this boring bloke was reading. It was hilarious.

I was the Assistant book Study conductor in a KH in Knoxville and had to conduct a lot for the BS conductor. I was so boring the wallpaper drooped.

My bookstudy conductor was never prepared. The meeting would be about to start and he'd have to ask someone which page we started on. Thinking back now, he was probably just another overworked elder. He had ten kids and was the only breadwinner.

We had a conductor that never varied his pitch everything was montone. When he would ask a question and someone would comment no matter how correct the comment was he would always say "well yes that is true, but I was looking for something else."

Well no one would raise their hand to try to give him what he wanted because he would just take exactly what the bro. or sis had just said and rephrase it into his own words. We had to hear the same answers over and over again in his boring monotone voice. It was just awful!!

No wonder he was never prepared, it looks like he spend most of his time with his wife in bed getting her pregnant.

My Dad has taken my book study for the majority of my life. He used to be a bore, but now, he's grown to hate doing it. He wants to quit the job but if he did my Brother would take over, and he doesn't want him to have the responsibility. He never prepares, and he just rushes through it, we almost always finish within 40 minutes, which is great! And since the only person in the group who answers more than once or twice is some wacky old lady, the group generally consists of conversations between the two of them which almost always go off the point and often they even have nothing to do with the religion! Still, I'd rather not be at the book study, but sometimes I actually enjoy it! If only all the meetings were like that, then I wouldn't resent going to them so much.

They really should eliminate the book study, there is not much you learn there and would give an extra night off and of course encourage the pubs to go out in service on that night.

If I recall, not a one of them was the least bit entertaining. I HATED this one we had that would call on people even if their hand was not up. He would assign scriptures to you to read out loud when we were in the Revolation book and he had these kids reading like 20 versus and every other word the parent had to help with and it took 10 times as long to read.
