Getting caught

    I am completely paranoid.

I still have my suspicions that this site is run by the GB, everyother poster is a stooge who eggs you on to spout more and more apostacy until they have enough evidence on you to hang you out to dry. I'm still not happy that my IP address is on the posts.

To register on this site I set up a new, untraceable email account that is used only for this, and I made up my screen name with the most unlikely name I could think of so it would be untraceable. I have changed my writing style and the words I use. I delete my history and restart the computer after everytime I log on to this board.

Me paranoid? Pah! Seriously tho, could this board be run by the thought police, i mean GB? Could it? Could it?!

    Welcome to the forum!!

I was worried about this in the begining too. I suggest you don't put down anything that tells where or who you are, no photo etc. I have never had a problem. Please stay, as it is encouraging to see new ones.

    Sincerely,

    Lady Liberty

Im very lucky that I have no family in of any consequence, and no one I care about who could shun me, so I use my real photo, age and location.

I think as long as you keep all details secret you will be OK.

As I understand it, your real IP is not displayed. That's an encryption and is displayed to assist with moderating.

Of the 10's of thousands of registered posters here, I have only heard of a handful who were found out. One was RichieRich who repeated gave his full name and congregation - even posted the names of his elders - and posted his picture (flipping off the elders while in the bathroom of his KH). The others gave significant identifying information. I would not worry about being found out from your posts.

Family walking in on you while posting, well, that's another story.

Welcome to JWD!! You will find so much support and understanding here.

One of the old, old timers here told me he knew of someone that was outed by a poster that didn't like them. This person lost their marriage because of it. In my case, I have it set up so my e-mail will never reveal who I am.

Anyone who has known me for a loooooooooong time MIGHT be able to see it's me, but most of them moved away, were d.f.'ed, or died.

Boy I hope that the brothers from ENDICOTT, NY don’t find out who I am, since I have not been officially banished into the "cold dark world," yet.

Just needed to edit this last post.

Yeah, let somebody say something to me! It would only be an admission that THEY are reading so-called apostate sites and I don't see how anybody could read these posts and not be affected by them. At the very least, they should make somebody think.

So, if anybody is here "spying" they have to be very cold-hearted. How could they not learn anything here?

To read the stories here and discount ALL of them would tell me the JW spy is lying to themselves. I do not think posters are coming here to LIE about their experiences. What for??? Why bother posting at all??? To impress who???

I think most of what is posted here is damn truth.

I have never been a JW, but when I first started posting here I was paranoid because if I got found out the elders might tip off my JW friend as to what I was up to! So I can imagine it must be much worse for you!!

Basic tips: don't give your real location or age. Be careful about any identifying information. Folks who have been here for a few years, have been to apostafests, or who have decided to give their real information are folks you can feel a bit more comfortable with. Personally, I have met 1 person in real life, and talked to 4-5 posters on the phone (which is not much compared to others!!).

Anyway... I hear ya about being paranoid!
