Acorn squash is my favorite too, and its getting to be that time of year to have it....add some fresh grated nutmeg to your brown sugar and butter.
I also (very rarely make a squash lasagna) a ton or work and very rich, but its a big treat.
Other favorites, avacados, corn on the cob, home grown beef steak tomatoes, broccoli in cheese sauce. My all time favorite fruit is sweet cherries or papaya. I also have small bananas that grow in my yard that are super sweet but only get them if we haven't had frost for 2 years.
