I like my given name (Melissa) although I hated it as a child, but I wish I could choose a different last name.

When I got married my named became "Moan". I get people kidding "so.... is it true?" . I used my name in the search engine and all that comes up is PORN!!!!

Melissa means bee and it's not a bad name, but is Moan a corruption of Melissa or your husband's surname? It's strange how we never decide something as personal as our names.

I don't mind my name, I was named to be born into the "New System" So my first and middle name together means "Palm tree at break of day". My mother thought she would be holding her new baby underneath a palm in the paradise earth. No one ever pronounces my name correctly either but at this point it doesn't bother me since I'll answer to anything :)

I hated the name Grace all my life ( I used to tell folks it was Shirley - after Shirley Temple -dont forget I am 79) But when I came out of the LIE!!! & found out what Grace really means ( not undeserved kindness as the WT calls it) I now am very happy with Grace > the 2nd name UGH!!!! > Mildred

Yes, I like it now as I get older--Larissa. As a child, though, it really disappointed me when other kid would have things such as stickers/pens/necklaces with their names on it, and I didn't. Plus, so many people would pronounce it wrong, which pissed me off. I wanted something simple and common, like Kimberly!

I love the name Grace! And I also think Mildred is classy - it's geek chic, Granny Grace!! Old classic names are back in style!! I love my name too and always did. I wish I could say what it was, but I can't. Some of you know it. I feel lucky to like my name so much. I think it's ironic that my name is given to me by my parents and I love it so much and yet my parents are pretty upset with me these days. Whoah, there I go getting all deep and I'm not even that good at it. LOL.

Grace what am I going to do with you? As you know Shirley was my birth name and I hated it with a passion as a child and even more later on. It connected me too abuse, pain, abandonment from my family and merciless taunting by schoolmates. When I left the JWs and everything behind it seemed a perfect opportunity to make the switch. And it was. I played with different names but loved the sound of Lee so when I was getting married again in 2001 I legally changed my first name and dropped the middle one which never felt like it was mine anyway (I had one aunt who had it and who uncles who married people with similar names) So I am legally Lee. And I got married and changed the last name too. And I love it

I love the name Grace. I even thought that if my husband and I ever had another child and it so happened to be a girl I would like to name her Grace. It conjures, Grace Kelly, one of the most beautiful and elegant women of all time. Though, I know how it feels to have a name that you aren't crazy about.

LLee was it terribly difficult to change your name? I really want to change my middle one and have thought about doing it legally. I really like your new name. Lee is really a very nice name. Makes me think of Vivien Leigh. She was so pretty.

I love the name Grace. It reminds me of Grace Kelly.

I always liked my first name and what it's meaning is. My parents asked me recently if I liked it and I said yep!
