Could this article be a protection for the borg against the Tort of Misrepresentation? All of a sudden, they seem to want to be sure and inform the dubs about all of their options. Also, it is interesting that the consequences of the refusal of each fraction is explained more openly than I have ever seen before.

    What do you think?

Their blood policy is such a complicated maze why don't the dubs realise that there is something wrong with it? What directs their policy is the need not to say anything that might open them up to getting sued for dead relatives. I still can't see why they don't allow auto blood transfusion.

You wrote: "What do you think?"Yes! August Awake! #1, November KM #2. The Tort of Misrepresentation article definitely seems to have gotten their attention.

This illustrates how reactive the Society currently is. I've seen the Society react before. I was a Witness when Schnell's book came out, but that reaction was defiant, this reaction is compliant and seems to me to accommodate the Tort article perfectly.

I didn't know the Bible got into such fine details!

Yes, I think they are trying to cover themselves with this. It looks like the Tort of Misrepresentation has them more than a little concerned. As Gary said, whilst they were defiant once before, now they are a lot more compliant. Maybe they think in the long run it will save them $, which is all they really care about anyway.

You need to read the scriptures a little more closely, drew!

Leviticus 17:13 "As for any man of the sons of Israel or some alien resident who is residing as an alien in YOUR midst who in hunting catches a wild beast or a fowl that may be eaten, he must in that case pour its blood out and cover it with dust. Unless ... any man of the sons of Israel has a medical condition that requires just a tiny bit of that blood. In that case, the sons of Israel should ignore the following verse."

Leviticus 17:14 "For the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood by the soul in it. Consequently I said to the sons of Israel: "YOU must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood. Anyone eating it will be cut off."

The recent changes, (confusion), in the blood doctrine was definately one of the things that got me thinking all was not well in dub land before I left. I didn't see how anyone could possibly make an informed decision based on the information provided. The truth is, you can't. Most of what is considered a "conscience" decision is no less blood than blood itself, (i.e. contains red, white blood cells, or plasma). There is an obvious contradiction here, and the WTS has managed to work themselves into a corner with this one.
