This text applies to Jesus more than anyone else. Much of what he said never happened. Jesus was sent to mankind as a test by God to see if he would remain loyal to the ONE creator. Mankind has obviously failed in this regard. God is ONE. There is no salvation outside of Him. He said it himself in that same book of Deuteronomy.
To say that God has, or needs a son to create the world is to place a limit on Him. God is a spiritual force. Spiritual beings cannot have children. Humans need children in order to continue the existence of the species. God does not need anyone to ensure his continuity.
