Tolerance is key. My personal beleif "now" requires me to see any one individual's religion or beleif as just that - what works for them as an individual. There are many who just LOVE being witnesses, love the close community, and love having a set of restrictions that makes them feel elevated. That's ok.
We all choose our beleifs based on what works for us.
What doesn't work is staying there simply because of guilt, not wanting to be shunned, or just perpetuating a "family tradition".
I've decided it was ok for me to leave, and it's ok for them to stay. I may not like the way people like myself are treated - but then again, there are lots of things in this world that I don't like and cannot change. So I just let it fall.
Live, be happy - and stay out of eachother's business. :)
And I couldn't care less how they view it!

If you mean, did I enjoy life as long as I thought that this was the proper way to serve God,
have a happy future in mind, and not miss many things that everyday people do-
No it wasn't all that bad.If instead, do you mean, did you mind being misled, wasting your life, having your thinking,
behaviour, and sex life controlled, YES, I DID MIND. IT WAS AWFUL.I get your point. Right up until I started to doubt, many years ago, being a Witness was
okay- I had morals (still do), I had an honest, loving wife (still do), I enjoyed life (still do).
That doesn't make it okay. An innocent person can look back on the years he spent in
prison because of a corrupt prosecutor, and say "I enjoyed the basketball games, working
out, they had a good library, etc. But if it were up to me, I would have skipped it and found
another place to play basketball, work out, read books." -

High points: having instant friends when you move to a new area, high trust factor(most witnesses are honest), high morals
Low points: having my childhood stolen from me, not having the freedom to chose not to be a witness w/o serious repercussions, restictions on education and free thinking, hypocrisy at high levels, having to believe and go along with everthing or else.
Summary:Not so good...

Agree.
Was it that bad to have worldly people think you are nuts, NO as long as you thought you were not.
Was it that bad to be isolated from non-JW loved ones, then realize that you may lose JW loved ones
unless you continue to pretend you believe the stuff that really is nuts, YES.
