About 6 years ago. A Witness girl I worked with was getting married. She knew I was d/f but didn't care. The Kingdom Hall I went to was far enough away from the one that I was d/f from that no one recognized me.
It's been 10 years though since I actually attended a meeting though.

Memorial 2004 to help support a friend - I could smell the cobwebs and moth balls and was glad to get the hell out of there.

Memorial back in probably 1996 or 1997. I took the girl I was dating at the time.
We were both pretty weirded out. "Don't ever take me to something like that again..." "Not a problem..."

Been out for 14 years. I tried to attend 2 Memorials after that. The first one I got in the front door and stayed briefly and left. It made me feel like I was on the verge of a panic attack.
Second time, I stayed in the car crying and praying.
I was in a free fall emotionally.
Oh yeah. In 2000 went to the Kingdom Hall and talked to the elders. I won't go into the long story, but that was the last time.

the worst part was actually at the end of the meeting when everyone wanted to come over and talk to you, welcome you, hug you and generally overwhelm you.
You must have been "a study" or a new one......this is usually NOT the case. Once the initial lovebombing is over....you could sit there not moving in your seat gathering dust and cobwebs and JWs would step over and PAST you to chat with someone else "more important". In MY experience, anyway.
My last meeting was the Memorial in 1999.
