The first memorial I missed, I was in the throes of a fever-induced delirium due to adult onset chickenpox, thanks to my pre-schooler. I could have cared less. It didn't seem worth it to go the next year after you miss that first one.
How did you feel, when you missed your 1st Memorial?

I didn't care. No reason for me to rush home from work just to watch a nice glass of wine pass your eyes being tempted to go to the pub. I went to the pub instead. It was great.
LOL! Actually I felt embarrassed when the bread & wine was passed and no one partook. What would the visitors think seeing this? Does it really make sense to "keep doing this in remembrance", when you are not really doing it!? Although the DC dramas where the worst, I wanted to find a place to hide.

I agree!!!
It wasn't much of an incentive to "come back" to see the rest of what the WTS oddball teachings were, huh?

My last meeting was late 94 so i went to the memorial that year , but I made it my goal never to go to another one , because I would have taken the emblems and embarrassed my folks , now that reminds me , LoL

I felt incredibly guilty, the first year I did not attend. The next year became easier, the third year, I forgot, until I noticed the full moon. I haven't been in over 8 years.

Have you ever been to a dinner party and sat there and watched the other people eat and drink?
Have you ever been part of a sports team and sat on the bench and watched all the other people play?
I felt great the first time I missed the WTS memorial. We purchased red wine and unleavened bread and read all the passages regarding the first memorial. We prayed (no songs though) and truly reflected on our own place in the scheme of things.

Like I was glad that there were three less to be counted in the total attendance that year. (Me, husband, daughter)

Personally I was too busy holding a pagan esbet/ostara ritual in the middle of the living room to notice. I don't know it wasn't as weird as I thought it would be.

I didn't notice.
Where I worship they "remember" Christ's sacrifice at least 5 times a month.
